(11/20/08) HOURS: Noon-8pm, closed Wednesday. Bill still works Mon, Tues, Fri & Sat... Mike Thur & Sun. However, since we're still settling in it might be a good idea to call first if you're thinking of coming by on a Thur or Sun.

(11/6/08) Liberty Art & Ink (formerly Liberty Tattoo) will be open tomorrow Friday 11/7!!! Initially this will be a "soft" opening... mainly for those of you that already have appointments with Bill within the next week or so (Lori will be calling you!). Check back for more info regarding our "grand" opening, hours, etc. & again, our new address is 715 Sutter St., Suite B (upstairs), Folsom CA 95630 (916) 985-3777 (see my 10/15 notes). Jennifer decided not to buy Liberty Tattoo & her new business name at 4544 Auburn Blvd. is Leonardi Tattoo, new number (916) 976-1013. Until we're settled Mike will work out of Jennifer's shop but he will eventually work at both, check back for updates.
(11/3/08) Liberty Art & Ink isn't open quite yet but we're hoping for this Friday 11/7!! As of Tuesday 11/4 the 977-3977 number will no longer work & you should get a recording to call our new number 985-3777. (10/15/08) THE LATEST NEWS!! Bill's new tattoo studio & art gallery "Liberty Art & Ink" at 715 Sutter St., Suite B (upstairs) in historic Folsom is coming along. You'll be looking for a two-story brick building called the "Opera House" (which is a few doors down from the Folsom Hotel), then some french doors/stairway between "As Time Goes By" & "Forget Me Not" & we'll be up those stairs on your left (our windows face Sutter St.). There is plenty of free parking nearby & if you're unable to go up the stairs we'll tell you how to get in from the back. We got the permit for the plumbing, it's done & has been signed off by the City (phew!). The painting, etc. is almost done (& looks amazing Joe!), cabinets & additional flooring installed, the phone works (916-985-3777)... but we still need to install some sinks & do some other things so no open date yet (we'd love to say Halloween but we'll see). If you have an appointment with Bill at the end of October or early November, Lori will let you know where to go when she calls you with your appointment reminder. OTHER BIG NEWS!! Effective November 1st Jennifer will be the new owner/operator of "Liberty Tattoo" on Auburn Blvd. (Mike will probably "float" between the two shops). Stay tuned or come by for updates!!

(9/21/08) THE LATEST NEWS!! Since we got the Conditional Use Permit approved for "Liberty Art & Ink" we've been working hard to get things done... we're in the process of getting some feature painting done on the inside, then need to get some light plumbing done to install a few sinks. Once these two things are done we'll have a better idea on when we'll be able to open. Also, Jennifer has decided that she'd like to stay at the Auburn Blvd. shop so if all goes as planned she will own/operate that location once Bill moves to Folsom. Stay tuned for more details!!

AUGUST 20 to support our application for a Conditional Use Permit which we need in order to open up "Liberty Art & Ink" on historic Sutter Street. Unfortunately, old tattoo stereotypes die hard so we've go to prove what a respectable, first-class business we run... & what respectable, first-class clients we attract! City Hall is at 50 NATOMA STREET right near the Zoo, Rodeo Arena & Police Station (plenty of free parking in front & back). It would mean so much to see "all" of you there (feel free to call for more info)!

(6/4/08) He's baaaaaaack!!! Yes ladies & gentlemen... Mike "The Grinder" that is & he's ready for walk-ins (& appointments)!! For those of you who don't know Mike, he apprenticed under Bill about 15 years ago & worked at Liberty on Amber Lane, then he moved to Nevada with his family, had his own studio "Empire Tattoo" in Carson City for a while, worked at another studio for a while... & now we're happy to say that he's back. Mike doesn't have a set schedule yet (but he's worked every day since Saturday)... so if you're looking to "walk-in" (always first-come-first-served) you can call first to see if he's in or you can just swing by. His portfolio is on our counter & his web page on our site will follow. Welcome back Mike!

(5/18/05) Many of you have discovered the wonders of a topical numbing ointment but please take it upon yourself to use safely & consult your doctor if you have any medication allergies "before" you use. Also, it's a good time of year to remind you that your new tattoo should not be covered for an extended period of time as that can result in an infection from lack of air. Remember, your skin has been traumatized with needles so it "will" be red & tender for a couple of days. If it's on your lower leg/ankle/foot keep it elevated as much as possible for the first several days otherwise it might really swell up & get irritated. If your tattoo is in a "bending" area keep it straight as much as possible so that it gets air & heals properly. As always, keep your tattoo clean, apply an antibiotic ointment, bandage it on & off until it starts to flake (especially when you're sleeping to keep the ointment on it) & keep it out of the sun... read our aftercare!
